Strong to severe storms impacting Metro Detroit, more storms tomorrow
THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT:
The showers and thunderstorms will become more numerous during the evening hours, including a marginal (level 1 of 5) risk of storms becoming severe through about 11 p.m. The main threat would be gusty winds and hail. Isolated street flooding could also occur. Otherwise, after near-record warmth, temperatures will fall to the mid 60s under mostly cloudy skies.
TOMORROW:
It will be hot again with more rounds of showers and thunderstorms. As temperatures rise into the mid to upper 80s, showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop in the afternoon and evening. The strongest of these storms, which are likely to develop between 5 and 9 p.m., could pack damaging winds and hail. Localized street flood flooding may be possible. Nighttime temperatures will offer little relief as lows only fall to the upper 60s.
WEDNESDAY:
Skies will be partly sunny and mostly cloudy with rain in the morning. The heat and storms chance will stick around. A few showers and thunderstorms could once again become strong to severe during the day. Highs will be in the lower to mid 80s. Lows will fall to the mid 50s to 60 degrees.
